More radio play, CD update, and Beulah Camp!

 

Hey TGR fans, hope you're having a great summer! Our summer is about ready to kick off in full swing!

First of all, TGR will be at Beulah Camp in Eldorado, IL this coming week. We'll be there from Sunday the 21st through Saturday. Say a prayer for the services and that TGR connects with the campers and can be a part of an awesome week for Christ.

Next, we appreciate your patience on the new CD. It is being mixed as we speak and we hope to have it back by the beginning of next week. Then it's sent to be pressed and that would put us at around the end of June, beginning of July when we'd get it back. We know we're about a month off schedule but it's just taken us longer than we expected. We're really proud of this new project and want it to be the best it can be!

Last, "Live for Today" is still spinning on the radio and being added to stations all the time:

Our good friend Rod is playing it on 99 Hit FM in Springfield, MO so be sure and call in to request it if you're in the area.

Our new buddy John has added the song to their station at www.cilfm.com in the Marion, IL area. He'll be playing this Sunday night from 7 to 9 pm.

Stel with Y98 FM is going to be playing the Tune on The Answer, his morning show, this Sunday from7 to 10 am.

The song has also been added to "The Spirit", the online/streaming radio station that you can find on KEZK's website at: http://www.kezk.com/.
Live for Today will air over the next few days at:
Friday - 7AM hour
Saturday - 4PM hour
Monday - 7PM hour

Hey TGR fans, we're only one week away from AGAPE 2009 (www.agapefest.com) and we hope to see you all there on Saturday, May 2nd at 11:00 am to see us playing the main stage. TGR has been plugging the radio waves and they've got a few more things coming up. 

 

On Thursday, April 30th at 7:30 am TGR will be live in studio at WIBI (www.wibi.org) doing a live interview and playing the new tune.  Tell all your friends to listen and even call in to say hey!

 

 

Finally, go to: http://www.ccli.com/CCLITV/, scroll down and look on the left for TGR's live video of "Spent". Check it out and please give us a 5 star rating. Also, let you church know that they can start playing this song and "All That I Am" at your church services as both songs are available through CCLI's licensing company.

 

Finally, the last three songs for the new 5 Song EP are being finished as we speak. The new release date is the middle of May but we feel it will be worth the wait. We should have the ability to take pre-orders of the new CD at AGAPE.  So stop by our booth, say hey, and order the new tunes!

TGR radio interviews, magazine, and new CD!

Hey TGR fans, alot of stuff is going on in April to help promote the new CD coming out in May!

First off, we finally have a song lineup for the CD that will be a 5 song demo (tentatively titled "The Great Romance"). We'll reveal those songs soon.

Next, we'll be in studio recording a sit down interview with Stel Pontikes for Y98 FM this Thursday. The interview will air the following Sunday morning or a the Sunday after that so keep checking back here for that scheduled air date.

There are a couple of other radio interviews that will be coming up in April with WIBI and Powerlight out of Springfield, IL.We'll keep you posted!

Last, In Magazine (www...todayinchurch...com) is doing a story on the guys. The article will come out in two weeks and we'll let you know where you can pick it up.

If you haven't already heard, TGR will be playing on May 2nd at AGAPE. The boys will be on the main stage at 11 am. If you haven't already purchased your tickets there's still time or you can buy them at the gate. The lineup includes The Afters, December Radio, Hawk Nelson, Toby Mac and more! Hope to see you there!

Radio Interview Monday

Hey TGR fans, couple more radio opportunities coming the bands way and a clarification on one of them!

First of all, our appologies on The Vine radio tune in date we gave you last time.  Things went even better than expected and the folks at The Vine needed more time to put the interview together.  You can tune in Monday, April 12th between 2 and 3 pm to listen.  There's plenty of talk plus an unplugged version of "Spent".  Check it out on line at: www.wvyn.org.  Remember that you have to set up an account with the station so allow plenty of time.

Second, our interview with Stel at Y98 FM went great!  It will air Sunday, April 19th at around 8:30 am on Y98 FM (98.1 in the St. Louis, MO area!).  Please tune in and tell as many people as you can!

Last, the new CD is coming along.  Two songs are finished, drums have been cut on the other three.  We'll be working hard to try and have it finished by the beginning of May.  Stay tuned!

Hey TGR fans, for those of you that caught it last Sunday,

Y98 FM played our new song "Live for Today" on The Answer

Radio show hosted by Stel Pontikes.  We have plans to air it

on other stations in April such as WIBI and The Vine but we've

decided to release it on our MySpace on the first of April!

When it's up, if you could add it to your pages we'd really

appreciate it!

The 5 song album is coming along and, so far, will include

"Live for Today", "Spent" (the new version), "I Find You", and

two more brand new tunes! Keeping checking back for more

details as we plan on releasing the new album in May.

Last, we're in concert opening up for Grammy Nominated

TGR Update--Andy Hi all, Andy here. I hope all's well with you. I thought I'd give you an update on how things have been moving. We had quite an eventful day this last Sunday in little place called Moscow Mills, Missouri. We were part of an area wide Independence Day celebration; The St. Louis Christian Freedom Fest. As we wound through the fields and forests deep into the El Shaddai ranch, we had no idea what to expect. Here's a snapshot into the craziness that ensued. First, we set up the stage and waited for the other bands to arrive. While waiting, we discovered a snake had wrapped itself up in our equipment. Ironically, it had found its way into our snake. I'm not going to say which two band members screamed like a girl, but it wasn't me or Vollmar. We were pleasantly surprised to see some old friends from Element Church were going to play. We thoroughly enjoyed their performance except for the heat and humidity which was pretty unbearable. When it was finally time for us to take the stage, we let it loose. Playing in that kind of heat can really take it out of you, but I think the adrenaline was flowing because we were really pumped to be playing. The crowd there was great and really dove into what we were singing. On a side note, I don't think I've ever been so sweaty after a show. For the night cap we enjoyed listening to a local church band play some of our favorite tunes which was followed by a ridiculous fireworks show. It was a good end to a long day...or so we thought. As we made our journey back home through the floodplains, a deer lept from woods and ran in front of our van. Vollmar slammed the brakes down, but there was nothing we could do. Thankfully there wasn't too much damage to the van, but sadly the same cannot be said for the deer. All in all, it was a day to remember unless your were an deer or someone who sweats an embarassing amount. We will be taking a few weeks off, but Matt Vollmar will be singing and playing in support of Chris Sligh in Salem, Illinois in the coming weeks. In the meantime, we'll continue to seek out God's desires for us, and I hope you'll do the same. If there's one thing I've learned in my twenty-one short years on this planet, it's that we are only fullfilled when Christ is fullfilled. Seek His plan and He'll direct your path. Blessings, Andy

In Branson This Weekend!

Dear TGR Fans!

Time to gas up and hit the road! The Great Romance will hit three states, travel hundreds of miles, make new friends and visit old friends during the next few days!

There will be four chances to catch the guys in Branson, Mo. this weekend! First up, enjoy some theme park fun and take in one - if not all - three TGR shows in Silver Dollar City's Opera House. The Great Romance will take the stage on Saturday, March 29th at 10:45AM, 12 Noon and 1:00PM.

Make a day out of it!

Then on Sunday, March 30th The Great Romance be reunited with friends at Woodland Hills Church in Branson at 5:00PM.

The following week starts off with The Great Romance live and in studio on WIBI, April 3rd (www. wibi. org) from 8 am to 10 am. Dear TGR fans, another year has come and gone and this one has been pretty amazing for our ministry. In this past year, the band has added a new member (lead guitarist Matt Stephens who you guys know rocks), a new, official fan club president (Beckie Fike) who does so much to help our ministry go and she doesn't even realize it, a brand new CD (Creator, buy it online or on itunes, lol), and a brand new name! Also, one of the coolest things that happened to us this year was our partnership with Compassion International. More importantly, in just a few short months, we've seen 30 kids sponsored. This is because of you the TGR audience! Your generosity towards us and more importantly towards these kids knows no bounds and is so greatly appreciated.

As the year draws to a close, we just wanted to thank you guys for your continued support as fans and worshippers. We urge you to keep us in your prayers as we look for God to do even more amazing things this coming year and look for it to be the biggest ministry year for TGR ever. We want to thank our families for their continued support and patience (that's for you wives) as we travel, practice, write, etc.

Last, we want to thank someone who has been with us for three years. Our manager, Todd Stewart, with whom this year we've decided to go our separate ways. We thank him for three years of service, sacrifice and more. One thing we could always say about Todd was that there is no bigger fan of what we do than him. We wish him and his family the best in all their future endevors.

Have a merry Christmas, a great New Year, and be ready to rock out and worship in 2008 with The Great Romance!

TGR has aligned with Compassion International, a Christian child advocacy ministry at work in 24 impoverished countries helping more than 900,000 children. 

 

The Great Romance asks that you prayerfully consider joining them in sponsoring a child.  Each of them sponsors his own child and can testify to blessings he has received in turn.  On a personal note, the kids in the youth group I help out with decided to sponsor a child together.  It brings a smile to my face thinking about the crumpled up dollars they hand us youth leaders each month.  I wonder if they will ever know how much of a difference those crumpled up bills make in the life of the child they help support half the world away. I suspect they never will, but I'm sure the child they sponsor must thank the Lord that they do.

 

Please pray about making a monthly contribution to your own child through Compassion, whether it be with your family or with a group such as your youth group, Sunday school class, friends, co-workers, etc.  It takes only $32 a month to make a profound difference in an impoverished child's life.  Join TGR and Compassion International in extending His love by releasing children from poverty in Jesus' name.

Dear TGR fans!

For those of you that haven't heard yet, theMAXPOWERband has changed their name to The Great Romance! The band announced the change last Sunday on Y98 FM. Although the name has changed, the focus has stays the same: to worship and praise our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! The Great Romance consists of Matt Vollmar on lead vocals & rhythm guitar, Chad Carpenter on drums & backing vocals, Andy Schneider on bass guitar and Matt Stephens on lead guitar.

The new 10-song CD "Creator" was released this week! For those of you that haven't gotten a chance to listen to it, you are missing out! The CD is not available in stores yet, so you will have to stop by a show to pick up your copy.

The Great Romance has teamed up with Compassion International. If you are interested in sponsoring a child through this organization, you can receive more information or make a commitment to a child at any of The Great Romance performances. You can catch The Great Romance at St. Matthew UMC in Belleville, IL on Sunday, August 5th. TGR will be doing morning worship for the 10:30am service.

Dear MP Fans, we are pleased to announce our new addition to the band. Matt Stevens from St. Peters, MO is our new lead guitarist and we couldn't be happier.
